Fürst Kraft Ernst von Öttingen-Wallerstein lives there and Haydn has corresponded with him for years. This passionate music lover hungers for his music. Haydn sells him symphonies and string quartets. including opus 33. The prince has an excellent orchestra in his service that has been led for many years by Antonio Rosetti. Of course, he also composed for them. The programme features some surprisingly beautiful excerpts from Rosetti’s symfonies and from one of his requiems.
