In the story about the St Matthew Passion we’ve arrived at the moment when Johann Sebastian Bach begins. He instructs Picander  about the texts and works on a piece for the Passion.

And Bach goes for a double orchestra and choir, even three choirs. In his own inimitable style he changes between instruments and the result is impressive.

All through this period he was fighting with the council, who found it all too expensive and wanted to cut costs.
