Our guest in Acoustic Roots on Friday 20th March 21:00 – 22:00 CET is the kora virtuoso Jalli Lamin Kuyateh and his band. The recording was made in the Pieternel in the Pieterskerk in Utrecht
Jalli is from Gambia and sings both traditional songs and his own compositions. His songs concerns the recent history, social problems and politics of his country as well as life, love, war, peace, friends and everything else that is important. to him.
The band members are:
Jalli Lamin Kuyateh – kora, bolombatu and vocals (composer and songwriter)
Moussé Pathé Mbaye – percussion
Ibu Sylla – balafon, djembé
