Theme: World Music

The broadcast on Friday 15 November (17:00 – 18:00) features Yasmin Levy. Yasmin Levy is a singer from Israel who inherited her interest in the Ladino language and the music of the Sephardic diaspora from her parents.

Yasmin Levy gives a unique twist to these musical traditions on her CD La Juderia by combining them with flamenco, another music form that has been influenced by Jewish and Moorish culture of Spain. The result is a fascinating and virtuoso confrontation that Levy herself calls a musical reconciliation.
