György Sándor Ligeti had already realised in the middle of the previous century that the barrel organ could have a role in serious music. Nieuw Amsterdams Peil is now organising a full concert programme featuring De Dulciaan, a barrel organ operated by Guus Diekstra. February and March also brings more organ music, from Olivier Messiaen and young Dutch musicians. The Nederlands Kamerkoor presents contemplative contemporary music from the United States and we also put the spotlight on Michel van der Aa.
