New series : Music and Politics
Vittorio “VIC” Dellacasa travels tireless through all styles of music. As musician he recorded funk, soul and vocal jazz . As collector he owns thousands of recordings and more than a hundred vintage instruments.
For many years he worked as producer for live shows, among others for Stevie Wonder’s world tour Songs in the Key of Life in 2014. Vittorio supports the Concertzender. From this month onwards he’ll be doing that in the form of a new programme Music & Politics, which will be broadcast monthly as part of JazznotJazz.
Music & Politics
People make music and music makes us human. The relationship between men and music goes back ages and mainly – but not always – runs smoothly. In the first episode of ‘music and politics’ you can hear the relationship between notes, rhythms and political activism, in relation to daily life. You’ll hear among others tracks by Dorothy Ashby, Taylor Haskins, la La mela di Odessa (1920) by Area, Nancy Wilson & Cannonball Adderley, The Dave Brubeck Quartet and les Amazones d’Afrique.
