Oscar Smit is playing the latest Christmas music from some of the more obscure places during Ocar’s Xmas Carols on Sunday 25 December at 18:00 CET.
Smit aka DJ Oscar is a collector and connoisseur of Christmas music, and especially of Christmas music that has only been released on vinyl.
An example of the music that you might hear during ‘Oscar’s Xmas Carols’ is the Swedish folk-rock band Ye Banished Privateers with the song ‘Deck and Hull’. A popular Christmas number about gruesome torture in the 17th century. Another example may be the Dutch band Plus Instruments featuring Truus de Groot. In ‘Christmas Is Here And It Feels So Queer’ Truus makes it an extremely freaky Christmas with a voice that cuts to the bone. There may also be some quieter moments in addition to the horror and the freaky sounds.
