The New Music department has a new coordinator from the beginning of January: Heleen de Groot. That is great news because Heleen comes from a family full of musical talents. Her eldest brother Rokus de Groot (1947) and her youngest brother Jan Rokus van Roosendael (1960-2005) are both influential composers, and her sister-in-law Sinta Wullur (1958) is a pioneer in the field of contemporary gamelan music.
Heleen brings a wealth of musical knowledge with such an impressive family background. We will delve deeper into the music from her family in our programme Contemporary Music on January 15, all from our own archive! Don’t miss it!
