Panorama de Leeuw nr 8 – Uproar

wed 6 may 2015

In January 1966 Reinbert de Leeuw broke through with a pianorecital in the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam in a series organised by Daniel Ruyneman . 2 months later he played the piano in Ittrospezione III by his friend Louis Andriessen in the Concertgebouw Amsterdam.

The Concertgebouworkest was conducted by Andriessen himself, and the second piano was played by Jan van Vlijmen.

Noteworthy: 3 days after this concert in the series ‘Current music’, the 3 friends together with Misha Mengelberg and Peter Schat wrote an open letter to the orchestra, accusing them of not programming enough contemporary music.

Broadcast: Wednesday 6th May 2015, 21.00
