In the summer of 1983 Daniel Johnston records “Yip Jump Music” in the garage of his brother. His fifth tape, produced on his own, contains twenty lo-fi songs about various subjects. King Kong, the Beatles, and Casper the Friendly Ghost make an appearance. The song “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Your Grievances” is heartrending.
