Iowa-based Nate Holdren began making computer music – you could call it glitchy drone, or dark ambient – under the name Aged to get out from under the weight of memories of being in punk bands when young, long ago. Finally old enough to be disciplined, he decided this would not be yet another unfinished bedroom project, and set about combining computer-generated tones, reverbed field recordings, and paulstretched human voice in the attempt to make music that evokes how it feels to swallow regrets and restlessly creep up on middle age, tired but unable to sleep. Holdren calls it music for pacing alone. https://aged.bandcamp.com/album/paper-commitments • xas abra. Fairly little is known of the artist xas abra, outside of an ambiguous note: "A cold and clear sharp sense overflows from a gap of a finger and is transformed into blue existence". https://abraxas1117.bandcamp.com/track/roid • Pinkcourtesyphone. Pinkcourtesyphone aka Richard Chartier swerves range out of another interior from sparkling dream-soft shimmers of strings, creamy arrangements, drifting drones, to dissected cha chas. Sometimes charmingly flamboyant, sometimes darkly wistful, sometimes deadeningly soothing, sometimes abrasively tender, but always engaging and ultimately engulfing of us. https://room40.bandcamp.com/album/leaving-everything-to-be-desired • Ümlaut. Jeff Düngfelder aka Ümlaut is a multidisciplinary artist living in New York working in sound, film, photography and design. Absence and silence; the ineffable exchange between viewer and image; and random moments of stillness captured within a changing landscape are the thematic concepts of his work. His fusion of digital clicks & cuts, occult beats, organic grooves, and field recordings, augmented by the element of chance, create the distinctive electronic textural sounds for his recordings and experimental films. https://ab-umlaut.bandcamp.com/album/insight • Radboud Mens. Radboud Mens is a sound-artist, composer and sound designer. Next to his solo work, he has worked with a broad variety of artists, including Stephan Mathieu, Janek Schaefer and Timebllind, voice-artist Jaap Blonk, guitarist Dan Armstrong (as Fitness Landscape), Michel Banabila, Mark Poysden (as Alignment), Craig Ward (ex-Deus), and Matthijs Kouw. https://radboudmens.bandcamp.com/ • Micah Pick. Tying the musical elements together are snippets of field recordings Micah captured during his everyday life to amplify the emotional themes of the album. These themes explore the surprise at finding unexpected joy even at our darkest moments when our worst fears are realized and facing the unique stresses of adulthood by retaining a sense of childlike joy. https://ab-micah-pick.bandcamp.com/ • opLo. opLo is a sound/visual artist has distinct style that incorporates industrial sounds, repetitive melodic elements, and complex, irregular rhythms. Shifting musical textures have a spatial element that reflects visual art. https://www.instagram.com/oplono/?hl=en • Yves De Mey. Yves De Mey's musical path consists of many different roads. During the second half of the 90's, his releases were clearly rooted in breakbeats and UK drum 'n bass. Soon after that, through working for theater and dance performances and doing large scale sound installations, his interest in experimental sound design found its way into his music. De Mey worked with a wide roster of artists for the performing arts. https://lineimprint.bandcamp.com/album/sueda • Valerio Camporini F. Valerio Camporini F. has worked on a wide spectrum in the music and sound field. He ran a record label in London, worked for Dolby Labs in the game industry, performed concerts, created installations and interactive cabarets in various corners of the world. He also writes soundtracks and soundscapes for independent movies, something that has granted him a prize for best soundtrack at the 73rd Venice Film Festival. An analysis of his multi-temporal works is about to be published in a book, together with pieces from Ligeti, Stockhausen and Nancarrow among others. https://lineimprint.bandcamp.com/album/multitemporal-designs
