Robert de Roos

tue 27 jan 2015

During the Chronicle of Dutch Music, Wednesday 28th January at 19:00, you can hear works by the composer/diplomat Robert de Roos (1907-1976) in connection with his biography ‘ Don't despair !’ written by Jurjen Vis, and published by Van Gruting.

Robert de Roos studied at the Royal Conservatory in the Hague and later with Darius Milhaud. He was one of our most successful composers in the first half of the 20th century. He could not support himself from his music, so as well as being a composer he was also a diplomat in Paris, Caracas, London and Buenos Aires and composed solely after work.

The second part follows next week on February 4th.
