Strolling with Wölfl IV

sun 28 feb 2021

On Tuesday 2 March at 19:00 CET you can listen to the next part of our series about Joseph Wölfl.

Haydn’s oratorium ‘Die Schöpfung’ was a sensational success. In the programme you can hear how well Joseph Wölfl (1773-1812) was able to use this work as the basis for a violin sonata. Vienna was becoming too small for him and, around 1800, he started to travel in Germany and Bohemia. Travelling by coach also gave him time to compose new works. These works included a piano concerto and the Trios opus 23, parts of which can be heard during the programme.
