This time, World Minerals—compiled by Pieter de Rooij—features only Dutch songs. The lyrics guide you through moods ranging from joy to melancholy, and through the Dutch language itself.
The songs were composed by Joop Stokkermans, Harry Bannink, Robert Long and Jules de Corte and are sung by Jasperina de Jong, Wieteke van Dort, Gerard Cox, Esther van Hees, Simone Kleinsma, Carry Tefsen, Jules de Corte, as well as by a (children’s) choir and a theatre company. Beautiful compositions and wonderful performances are guaranteed.
And the joy of language is also palpable—thanks to the masters who wrote the lyrics: Ivo de Wijs, Willem Wilmink, Michel van der Plas, Kees van Kooten, Jan Boerstoel, Robert Long and Jules de Corte. The songs are from several decades ago, so this “World Minerals” collection also explores the prevailing ideas in Dutch society at that time. Listen to these beautiful songs and decide if much has changed since then.
