Russian Leo Thermin invented the theremin in 1919. This instrument is not touched but you wave your hands in front of 2 antennas and then everything goes to a receiver.
The Ondes Martenot were invented by Maurice Martenot in 1928. This instrument is touched by the hands. It looks like a piano. The electronic sounds are produced by the keys and go to loudspeakers .
Olivier Messiaen wrote many works for this instrument .
