In the last few years there has been a revival of interest in the music of the American composer Julius Eastman. At the end of 2017 his versatility was again apparent when a recording of an exceptional live improvised piano performance became available. The complete recording of his dizzying ‘Zürich Concert’ from 1980 can be heard in Thema, together with several of his other piano compositions.

During the Rewire festival in early 2017 the Concertzender made a recording of the ‘Julius Eastman Memorial Dinner’ in the Grote Kerk in The Hague. The performers were Jace Clayton, Saskia Lankhoorn, David Friend and Anat Spiegel. You can listen to the recording here
