The young American composer and installation artist Randy Gibson is one of the rising stars in American minimal music.
Randy Gibson is a student of La Monte Young, one of the founders of minimal music. He and his wife, the light artist Marian Zazeela, are continuing the tradition of repetitive drones and hallucinatory light projections in their own uniquely personal way. Intense, slowly mutating music for drone ensembles, sine waves or precisely tuned pianos.
In the programme you can hear several recent works by Gibson and a new composition that has not yet been released.
