Three versions of the St Matthew Passion

sun 5 apr 2020
Theme: Early Music

It is almost Easter, but as a result of the Corona crisis there will not be a single live performance of the St Matthew Passion by Johann Sebastian Bach in the Netherlands this year. The Concertzender is therefore offering you 3 different versions that you can listen to online. Enjoy!

The agreements with Buma/Stemra mean that we can only provide links to versions individual programmes that we have previously broadcast. The length of the St Matthew Passion is such that each version is spread over a number of programmes.  You will therefore need to select a different link during the performance to move on to the next part but we tried to make this as seamless as possible by always linking directly to the start of the music and skipping over the introduction to the programme.

For more information about the St Matthew Passion, this link takes you to an introduction on Wikipedia.

In some cases, the broadcast may not begin immdeiately. if so, press the Pause button.  The programme will then download and dependant on the speed of your internet connection this may take some time. When the download is completed,  press the Play button and the programme will play from the start of the music.

play-buttonIf you are using Google Chrome, the broadcast will not start automatically, you will always need to press the Play button.
