On Friday 1st November 2019 we’re broadcasting the 750th episode of Bach ad Infinitum. The daily episodes of the series about Johann Sebastian Bach, sons, uncles, teachers and student started 7 years ago on 5th November 2012 with the first episode being presented by Joop van Zijl.
A golden pair, and a huge challenge for Govert Jan to write the texts, because it turned out to be and immense project, but also a new step in Joop van Zijl’s long career.
Joop, for a long time connected as presenter to the annual New Year’s concert in Vienna, went deeply into Bach for Bach ad Infinitum. Just like other members of the Bach-team every episode he learnt something new about Bach’s music. That created both a long-lasting cooperation but also connectedness.
Joop van Zijl presented the first 500 episodes and then Govert Jan Bach took over the presentation for himself. But Joop has of course always been an honorary member of the Bach-team, so it was a no-brainer to invite Joop for one more time to present the 750th episode.
Govert Jan Bach has relistened recently to many of the older episodes of the theme channel Bach ad Infinitum and is very proud of the series. So it’s nice to hear the trusty voice of Joop once again.
