On Sunday 23 March (15.00 – 17.00) we will be broadcasting a recording of the concerts given by the Huelgas Ensemble and Tetraktys during the Early Music Festival in Utrecht in 2013.
Lassus and Lejeune
Following on from the concerts by Emma Kirkby, Hopkinson Smith, Vox Luminis and Tasto Solo it is now time for the Huelgas Ensemble. In Concertzender Live on 23 March you can hear the concert that this ensemble gave during the Early Music Festival in Utrecht in 2013.
This famous vocal ensemble is led by Paul van Nevel (see photo) and sings motets, psalms and chansons from Lassus and his contemporary Claude Lejeune.
Contemporaries of Ciconia
This is followed by Tetraktys, the ensemble led by the recorder player and medieval specialist Kees Boeke. The ensemble plays music by three contemporaries of Johannes Ciconia, including Magister Dominus Paulus Abbas de Fiorentia. The vocal soloists are the soprano Julia von Landsberg and the countertenor Carlos Mena.
