Kairos on Thursday 5 January at 23:00 CET effortlessly crosses 500 years of musical history, and if we include the origins of the melodies used by Roman Turovsky it is probably a couple of hundred years more. We invite you to travel with us and visit different worlds, to close your eyes and take a look around. All this music inspires images, and although your first impression may be of restlessness, continue your journey and you will find peace. A meditation on contemporary music. Today we easily cruise through 500 years of music history. And if we count the origin of melodies of Roman Turovsky, we can add another couple of hundred years. We invite you to journey with us, be taken from one atmosphere to another and letting your mind create your own images. Because one thing all works have in common, is they are very expressive. And despite a somewhat restless cover, they all are tranquil at the core. If you find these, you can quietly experience the movement around you. In other words: let the music show and silence speak! You will music of Anna Backerra, Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Worfram Buchenberg, Roman Turovsky, Pauline Oliveros and Nico Muhly. And a short poem by Erna Speek.

Veel nieuw werk vandaag in Kairos.

Kairos. A meditation on contemporary music. A lot of new works in today's Kairos. We start of with a LoFi recording of the string quartet of Dutch composer Anna Backerra. Also fairly new: a magnificent work of the album 'De Temporum Fine Postludia' of Roman Turovsky and a song by Larus Sigurdsson. The track 'Koffer' from the brand new album of Ian Fischer bearing the same name. Yes, a suitcase in Berlin! And Matthew Bourne, but sounding very different than what we are used to. And for the first time in Kairos: 'Autumn Of Communion'. Of course, Kairos cannot escape the very very last album of Leonard Cohen, because he has passed away. Didn't this legend deserve a Nobel prize for Literature? You will also hear some old friends of Kairos, like Broeder Dieleman, LVE, Luik and Claude Débussy.
