In The Early Garden on Thursday 3 March 20:00 CET you can listen to Early Music with the theme of Peace. The full hour of the programme features the words and music of the musician and pacifist Jordi Savall.
Jordi Savall and Montserrat Figueras
Jordi Savall has been committed to world peace for a long time as is shown by the many projects in which he collaborates with musicians from all over the world. As a result, the European Union made Savall an ‘Ambassador for Intercultural Dialogue’ in 2008, and Unesco appointed him as an ‘Artist for Peace’.
Savall has also released many CDs with Peace as a theme, including ‘Guerre et Paix 1614-1714‘ and ‘Pro Pacem‘.
In this episode of The Early Garden we hear music from these CDs, along with oother music about Peace including “Da Pacem Domine” a work that Arvo Pärt composed especially for Jordi Savall.
We also hear an oracle sung in Greek to Aramaic traditional music about the great peace that will (one day) come.
