Tribute to Louis Peter Grijp in Antiqua vs. Nova

Antiqua vs. Nova on Monday 8 February at 12:00 CET is a tribute to Louis Peter Grijp, the professor of Dutch song culture, lute player and artistic leader of Camerata Trajectina who died on 9 January 2016.


Louis Peter Grijp (23rd January 1954 – 9th January 2016) was professor at Utrecht University of Dutch song culture, and scientific researcher at the Meertens Instituut in Amsterdam.
As well as that for 40 years (until 2015) he was lute player and artistic leader of the Utrecht music ensemble Camerata Trajectina. Under his direction the company brought out around 40 lp’s and cd’s with early Dutch songs. With these they won 2 Edisons.


In many Early Music programmes Louis Grijp could be heard playing cittern during the signature tune.


Antiqua vs. Nova presents a a tribute to Louis  Grijp that has been compiled by Marijke Ferguson.
