Medieval organs in Concertzender Live

In Concertzender Live on Monday 16 December (11.00 – 13.00) you can listen to 2 concerts: Super Librum in the Orgelpark on 7 June 2013, and the Fabulous Fringeconcert by the harpsichordist Barbara Adamczyk during the Utrecht Early Music Festival 2012.
 

Adieu mes Amours
The concert by Super Librum took place during a symposium (6 – 8 June 2013) about Medieval organs that was organised by the Orgelpark in Amsterdam.
The concert was titled: 'Adieu mes Amours', and included 15th century songs from France, Italy, Germany and the Netherlands and versions of these songs for organ and other instruments.

 

Late medieval organs

Two recent reconstructions of late medieval organs: a positive organ and a church organ play a central role in the concert.

Ensemble Super Librum
Super Librum conducted by Jankees Braaksma is considered internationally to be one of the most important ensembles playing medieval music. This ensemble specialises in introducing variations in the 14th and 15th century melodies during their performances.
 

The members of Super Librum are:
Marian van der Heide, soprano. Andrew Hallock, altus, cornetto. Christopher Kale, tenor. Kees Jan de Koning, bass. Tomas Flegr, organ, virginal. René Genis, plectrum lute, renaissance lute. Sarah Walder and Elisabeth Rumsey, vielle, viol. Jankees Braaksma, recorder, portative, organ, conductor.
 

Barbara Adamczyk

The harpsichordist Barbara Adamczyk performed a Fabulous Fringeconcert during the Utrecht Early Music Festival 2012. The concert was titled Les Passions de l'Âme and she performed music by Frescobaldi, Louis Couperin, Froberger, Purcell and D'Anglebert.
