Netherlands Chamber Choir streams 150 psalms over 150 days
The Netherlands Chamber Choir starts on 1 May with an online stream in which each of the 150 psalms will be streamed over a period of 150 days. The performances are from the project 150 Psalms, a ‘monumental ode to 1000 years of chamber music’ that had its première in 2017 during the Early Music Festival in Utrecht.
These online concerts were initiated by the Dutch Chamber Choir but also feature three other top choirs: the Tallis Scholars, Det Norske Solistkor and the Choir of Trinity Wall Street. The themes of the psalms, such as impotence and suffering, but also leadership, trust and hope are particularly relevant at the current time. The choir wants to bring a positive message into the world with these psalms and to unite people over the world during the 150 days of the online concert. The stream can be seen via the website of the choir, www.nederlandskamerkoor.nl
