Dr. Klangendum

Retrospective on the sound research project ‘Invisible Architecture’ by Sajjra Xhrs Galareta and Janneke van der Putten, a collaboration which started at the end of 2013. This soundpiece made for Dr Klangendum, includes past compositions, conversations as well as the unreleased live recording from a performance in The Toilet Gallery, Rotterdam.

‘Invisible Architecture’ explores the acoustic architecture of a specific space through its surrounding sounds, subtle acoustic phenomena and the human voice. Resonances and reverberations are emphasized and prolonged through (vocal or instrumental) interaction with sound space and not-conventional different microphone techniques. In this project Galarreta and van der Putten want to make the acoustic reflections audible, more than the direct source that generates it. The frequencies, amplitude, modulation of sound textures, as well as the breathing rhythm, the position of the microphones and its types, are responding to the qualities of the chosen site and its acoustic characteristics.This soundtrack includes:
