Deze tekst is gebaseerd op een vijftiende-eeuws zesdelige canon, die de komst van de zomer viert en afgedrukt staat in de in 2002 uitgegeven CD van de originele Soundtrack van de cultfilm ‘The Wicker Man’ uit 1973. In deze Folk it! draaien we twee songs uit deze film, gemaakt door de muzikant Paul Giovanni en de band Magnet.
Roger Wootton, en zijn band Comus, traden het afgelopen jaar voor het eerst sinds 1972 (!) weer op, op de Melloboat in Stockholm. Later dat jaar, speelde zanger Roger Wootton zonder de rest van zijn band op de Mello club Christmas Party Comus songs en eigen liederen, samen met de band Piu, waarvan de opnames nu op de CD ‘Cut the Air at Mello Club’ uit zijn. Van de band Piu is Lisa Isaksson de frontvrouw, vandaar haar bijnaam Lisa O Piu. Recent is van haar de 7” ‘Whisperers, Wavers, Hunters and Sailors’ uitgekomen op Autumn Ferment Records,’ uitgevoerd met haar eigen artwork op de hoes, die je hierboven ziet afgebeeld.
