In de Amerikaanse Billboard charts van de jaren ’60 waren protest en peace songs geen uitzondering. Het was een onrustig decennium, met grote culturele omwentelingen en onrust door zorgen over sociale misstanden, de natuur, en natuurlijk de Vietnamoorlog. De tijden zijn natuurlijk totaal anders, maar de zorg en hoop uit die sixties protestliedjes trekken je moeiteloos naar de zorgen en hoop van nu.
