Robert-Harman Sordam passed away after a long illness on Sunday 17th June 2018 in Amsterdam.
The composer and singer with the soft-timbered voice, born on 8th March 1955, was for many years one of the prime movers within the Surinam-Amsterdam music scene. He described his music as ‘vocal swing and improvised jazzy music with Afro-Caribbean influences’. His warm personality will be very much missed.
Listen to Robby Harman’s broadcast on 10th November 2017, in ‘Carib Calling‘ with host Guilly Koster.
