The Concertzender is once again offering a discount for a concert in the Concertgebouw! On 15th June, the famous mezzo-soprano Sarah Connolly will sing the role of Dido in the opera Dido & Aeneas by Henry Purcell.
Dido & Aeneas, the famous opera by Henry Purcell with the beautiful Lamento, will be performed once in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam on Sunday evening 15th June at 8:15 PM. The role of Dido will be played by none other than mezzo-soprano Dame Sarah Connolly. She is the Dido of modern times. The role of Belinda will be played by soprano Alison Lau, and countertenor Arturo den Hartog will take on the role of Aeneas. The singers will be accompanied by Baroque ensemble Il Gardellino conducted by Korneel Bernolet.
Before the break, a few songs from The Fairy Queen and King Arthur will be performed (including ‘Cold Song’).
