The Concertzender will be recording several special concerts during the 8th edition of the festival Muze van Zuid, On Friday, September 12th and Saturday, September 13th, you can experience the following three concerts live at the festival. You can then listen to them again later this year on the Concertzender.
Friday 12 September

Joost Willemze | VU Kamerkoor | Obrechtkerk | 20:00
Harpist Joost Willemze leads a celebration in which song and strings merge with the musical heritage and hidden splendour of the Obrecht Church. Krista Audere leads the VU Chamber Choir in a tribute to Kate Moore’s Etty Hillesum, alongside choral works by renowned composers whose names can be found in the street names of Amsterdam Zuid (such as Jurriaan Andriessen, Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, and Alphons Diepenbrock). Hollands Collectief | Oud-Katholieke kerk | 15:00
Hollands Collectief (Elisabeth Blom, Åsa Olsson, Jelle Leistra, Kees Jan de Koning) sing beautiful vocal music by composers after whom streets in Amsterdam Zuid are named, such as Jacob Obrecht, Catharina van Rennes, Orlandus Lassus, and Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck.

Sibil.la Ensemble | Vondelkerk | 20:00
Sibil•la Ensemble brings music from old Amsterdam in honour of the celebration of Amsterdam’s 750th anniversary. Mystical poetry by Hadewijch, medieval Dutch songs, and Renaissance polyphony by Christian Hollander and Carolus Souliert come to life and resonate. And with music by contemporary Amsterdam composers Louis Andriessen, Yannis Kyriakides, and Amarante Nat, the ensemble bridges the gap between past and present.
