Op 10 december 1982 gaven sopraansaxofonist Steve Lacy (1934-2004) en pianist Mal Waldron (1925-2002) een optreden in het Bim-huis te Amsterdam. Ze improviseerden ondermeer over thema’s van Thelonious Monk.
